Freddie B, also billed as Freddie B. Eckstine, is an American jazz, blues and R&B vocalist known for a deep, smooth baritone and interpretations of classic soul and jazz standards. Born and raised in Chicago, he developed a style rooted in blues and R&B before expanding into traditional jazz, fusion and the American Songbook. His recording catalog includes the original singles “Island Lady” and “Child Support Blues,” while his live career has included appearances at the Sahara in Las Vegas, The Smith Center and jazz and blues venues around the country.
